The main beach offers two breaks — a left and a right over a rocky bottom, suitable for intermediate and experienced surfers. For beginners learning to surf for the first time, the sandy beach break is the perfect starting point. Just outside of town, breaks like La Lancha along the Punta de Mita coastline offer longer rides, fewer crowds, and the kind of waves that make surfers come back year after year.
